The purpose of TEACH is to provide community-based, peer run support programs for individuals living with mental illness. TEACH is a self-help organization for individuals age 16 and older who presently live with, or have lived with a personal mental health and/or addictions challenge and have interacted with the mental health system – consumer/survivors.
TEACH brings a unique understanding to the mental health/addictions community, as individuals with lived experience. They assist individuals in their mental health and/or addictions recovery within the communities of the Halton Region, using a recovery philosophy that promotes self-empowerment and peer support.
TEACH is committed to using a person-centered, recovery based approach.
